TINJAN · 04 / PATHS, VIEWS & THE DRAGA VALLEY

Follow the quieter paths.

A few steps beyond the historic centre, the landscape opens into valleys, old rural lanes and the patient geometry of dry-stone walls. It is an Istria best discovered on foot or by bicycle.

The art of being here

Follow the quieter paths.

Not the loudest place in Istria. Perhaps that is precisely the point.

Four kilometres of dry stone

The Staza suhozida is a roughly four-kilometre walking route that begins near Tinjan’s old stone table and leads across traditional countryside towards Kringa. Expect rural paths, not a paved promenade.

From pond to pond

The 35-kilometre Od lokve do lokve cycle route links old village ponds, restored as reminders of how communities once lived with water. It is an invitation to see the landscape in a different way.

The valley beneath your feet

From the viewpoint known as spod ladonj, look out across the fertile Draga valley. Dry-stone walls and kažuni field shelters mark the land. Carry water and check route conditions before setting off.

An invitation to slow down

Spring walks, long summer evenings, an autumn harvest and the stillness of winter. Tinjan belongs to more than one moment of the year.
